Ready to Get More Clients and Be Happier In Business? Start Here…

UPDATE:  ****THE SURVEY IS NOW CLOSED – THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR RESPONSES!!!****

Hundreds of you have downloaded and enjoyed 13 Things No One Tells You About Photographing Children.  Many of you have emailed in incandescent rejoicing about how much it’s helped you.  And it’s my hope that there are happier, more well-photographed kiddos out there as a result.

Now it’s time to turn our attention to something else.

A critical part of your business.  One that helps you get clients.  One that can make you feel confident and fabulous.  But it’s also a part of your business that may NOT bring you joys and giggles.  It’s a part that actually might make you want to punch your computer screen now and again.

I speak, of course, of:

Your website.

Ohmygosh.  If that isn’t a source of angst + stress for photographers, I don’t know what is.

And the sad thing is, the angst and stress are totally predictable

Here’s how it usually goes:

Woo-hoo, you’re excited to be a photographer!  And so – thank heaven for Google and WordPress – you set up a free blog.  Life is good.  But at some point you want to stretch.  Create a brand; look and feel more professional.  You’re stoked to create a strong web presence, so you start shopping.  You ogle one template, then another, or maybe sign up for Showit.  You wade into design and setup.  And it’s hard!  Argh!  Do I want something sleek like Apple?  Tattered and timeless like Anthropologie?  Wait, I want it ALL!  I just can’t categorize my photography like that.  Maybe I’ll combine them…Applepologie!!

You semi-commit to something, work your tail off, then maybe post some screenshots on forums.  “Hey, uh, guys?  What do you think of this?”  You hope that people will just tell you it’s great so you can stop thinking about it.  You finally finish, HOORAY!  A few days or weeks of joy and peace ensue.  Until.  You feel insecure.  People like your site, but clients aren’t ringing the phone off the hook.  Your style evolves.  You see another template that makes you drool.  And you start to think – I need a change….and it starts all over again.

Let’s stop the insanity, guys.  I want to help you get it right the first time.

And I’m going to create a free resource for you to send you on your way.  But first?  I need YOUR help – because I need to understand what you’re going through so I can target this resource to what you actually need.  All you have to do is fill out {SURVEY NOW CLOSED – THANK YOU!!!} and tell me what you need.

Why you should take the time to do this:

1)  It doesn’t actually take that much time.

2)  I use the word “irksome” in it.

3)  If you don’t tell me what you need, I can’t give it to you.

4)  You’ll feel cool because you’ll be helping hundreds and thousands of photographers de-stress their life.

Yeah?  Yeah.

Jenika

Jenika, I just finished your survey. Hope my answers weren’t too wordy for you, but this is such a timely post as I have been seriously considering changing my website. Looking forward to what you produce from the feedback you collect. Thank you!!

I loved your article in DPS about the fear of raising prices. Very logical and interesting. Thanks.
